Organizational Context and Scope:
Under the overall guidance supervision of the IOM Jordan Chief of Mission (COM) and under the direct supervision of the Health Program Coordinator, of the Global Fund/Emergency Fund-supported TB project for Syrian refugees implemented by IOM Jordan, will be responsible for supporting the effective coordination and implementation of all health related assistance activities.
The Public Health Coordinator is expected to carry out his/
her duties in accordance with the strictest ethical standards, building
and maintaining partnerships with Government, international
organizations and non-governmental agencies, and with due respect for
gender and socio-cultural sensitivities.
1. Directly assist with implementation of the Global Fund/Emergency Fund-supported project ‘Enhancing Tuberculosis Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment among Syrian Refugees in Jordan’.
2. Contribute to the project planning, including development, implementation and monitoring of work plans, timelines, budgets, project milestones and deliverables.
3. Contribute to monitoring and analysis of the TB project’s progress, specifically aiming to increase effectiveness, take appropriate actions, and assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation procedures.
4. Draft project proposals in collaboration with government counterparts and implementing partners and assist with implementation.
5. Coordinate resource, equipment and information management.
6. Collaborate with the design, validation and distribution plans of health promotion materials, in coordination with the National TB program (NTP).
7. Advise on potential gaps and actions from the public health perspective.
8. Assist to ensure effective data capture for monitoring the project´s progress, maintaining the confidentiality of the data collected at all times
9. Contribute to regular reporting on project achievements, problems encountered, pertinent developments and strategic needs.
10. Conduct project evaluations using the CDC - TB evaluation tool under the direct supervision of the Program coordinator.
11. Perform any related duties that may be assigned by supervisor.

Education:
University degree in Public Health.
Experience:
• At least 2 years of professional work experience in health, development, and/or human rights. Experience in Public health in Jordan is beneficial.
• Substantial experience in working with intergovernment al organizations and/or UN agencies.
• Knowledge of the basic principles of International Public Health and Migration Health.
• Knowledge of governmental health strategies, guidelines, and programming processes is desirable.
• Public health research experience, including development of survey instruments, data gathering, analysis and report writing is desired.
Languages:
Full fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken. Excellent drafting skills in both.
Other:
• Fully proficient in MS Office, with knowledge and experience in quantitative data analysis, digital photography and publishing packages is desired.
• Effective communicator, successful negotiator, creative and analytical thinker, active learner, team player, and cross-cultural facilitator.
• Highly motivated with strong interest in the humanitarian work.
• Dynamic and energetic personality.
