Director General
The Position: Seeking a highly qualified entrepreneur to be the Director General for a new Jordanian organization with a mission of establishing and managing a set of sustainable businesses that create jobs and provide skills and long term employment solutions to poor communities throughout the kingdom. This position requires someone qualified to take the lead role, setting up the organization and developing its programs and services.
Key Accountabilitie
The Director General will be responsible to:
-Set up the organization
-Collaborativel
-Determine staffing requirements, develop and maintain a high performing, and engaged team of employees to ensure that the organization has the talent needed to carry out its mission.
-Identify and initiate organization's different programs in order to achieve high social impact as well as profitability of businesses within, while ensuring long term financial viability.
-Continuously secure funding sources mainly from donor agencies and investors
-Establish new set of income generating businesses in alignment with organization's strategy and based on potential, scalability and sustainability.
-Create annual operating budgets to be approved by the board and securing business income targets.
-Establish proper governance, policies and procedures of the organization.
-Represent the Organization to regulatory bodies, corporate, community and civic organizations, donors, supporters, and the general public. Establish and expand relations with all stakeholders.
-Provide financial oversight ensuring that sound fiscal and risk management practices are in place
-Develop future leadership within the organization
-Provide regular and thorough updates and accurate financial information to the board
Qualifications,
To lead this ambitious organization, we seek a mature, business minded and experienced candidate who will possess:
-Extensive knowledge of starting up and managing businesses is a must; knowledge of capacity building and job placement challenges and opportunities is a plus.
-Robust prior leadership and business management experience, with the proven ability to take a strategic view as well as manage day to day operations
-Enthusiasm for the mission of empowering impoverished communities through capacity building, training, and sustainable income creation
-Highly developed interpersonal skills, confident, persuasive public presentation skills and comfortable cultivating corporate and government relationships.
-Self-motivated
-Grants fundraising experience is a major plus.
-Solid experience of business planning and financial oversight.
-University degree in a related field, MBA highly desirable.
-Minimum of 15 years professional work experience, ideally with corporations or social enterprises.
